Pottery in the Park

Join us for Rosè and Clay, Bowl-In-One, drop-ins and month long courses at our socially distanced, outdoor pottery classes at ROW DTLA. 

BLM Fundraiser

Email us a receipt of your donation to any BLM cause and join an online class for free, clay is included. Takes place at 5:30pm on the 3rd Monday of every month.

Dana Point Classes

Join us for Rosè and Clay and drop-in classes at our popup Dana Point location.

Online Single Session Classes

Slab Building On A Form

 

We will learn how to use a form to create larger cylinders, how to alter these forms using darts, and how to use these as the basis to make things like pitchers and vases. Some experience recommended.

Kurinuki and Clay Marbling

 

In this class we will learn how to use two or more clay bodies to create a marbled effect. The class will cover carving techniques and ways to create beautifully organic surface textures.

Coil Building

A versatile technique that can be used to make a variety of objects (like vases, planters, and bowls) large and small.

Slab Building

We’ll learn basic soft slab construction by rolling a slab, making a simple cylindrical vase, and ways to embellish our pieces.

Small Sculpture

We will learn how to create a small hollow form, manipulate it, and add details to create figurative sculptures and abstract pieces.

Online Beginner

Wheel

 

Learn how to throw on the potter’s wheel in this two-part course. We’ll go over how to prep your clay, the throwing process from start to finish as well as trimming to refine the shape and add a foot.

Online Beginner Handbuilding

 

This is a three-part course coilbuilding, slab building, and small sculpture. Best for absolute beginners or ones who have some prior experience with handbuilding.

Online Continuing Handbuilding

 

This three-part course includes: slab building on a form, clay marbling and kurinuki, and surface decoration. Best for those with some handbuilding experience and want to learn more.
